The Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies at the University of Oregon is calling for proposals for its Graduate Student Research Grant Program. We expect to award at least four research grants of up to $3,000 each for master’s or doctoral research focused on Latinx or Latin American topics, especially projects that connect these fields with other disciplines.

What the award supports

Travel and lodging, software and supplies, research assistant or participant stipends, archive or museum costs, and other reasonable research-related expenses.

What the award does not support

Post-fieldwork activities such as conference presentations, or equipment such as computers, cameras, iPads, and similar devices.

Award details

– Four grants are available to support master’s or doctoral research. – The maximum award is $3,000 per proposal, with no minimum request required. – Research activities supported by the grant must take place before December 31, 2026. – Recipients will give a short public research presentation during the 2026 to 2027 academic year. – Recipients will also submit photos or video and a short written summary of outcomes by June 30, 2027.
