“Querer es Poder: A Story of Latinx Farmworker Health, Stress and Cultural Wealth, and How UO Students Gave Back”

Lecture by Dr. Heather McClure

Dr. Heather McClure, the director of UO’s Center for Equity Promotion and Bilingual Assistant Research Professor in the College of Education, will talk about her long-term collaborative, community-based research into stress and health among farmworkers in Oregon. The work involves a decade-long collaboration with the Farmworker Housing Development Corporation. The talk connects this research to this year’s Common Reading book (Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria Viramontes), and discusses the contribution of UO students to this research.
