Overview
CLLAS is excited to announce its 2025 Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Project in Latinx and/or Latin American-related issues in any field of study. We expect to award four prizes of $400 each to undergraduate students who have demonstrated excellence through an undergraduate thesis, research paper, capstone project, STEM project, or creative work. We encourage faculty to nominate students, however students may also submit applications on their own.
Award Details
- Four $400 awards are available
- Awardees will be invited to deliver a 5-minute presentation about their project at the 2025 CLLAS Awards Ceremony on May 30th
- Awardees’ projects will be shared via the CLLAS website and social media platforms. Awardees may be contacted to film a short video about their project.
Eligibility
- Open to all UO undergrad students who have completed projects/coursework with a Latinx/Latin American focus during Spring ’24, Fall ’24, or Winter ’25
- Open to all citizenship/visa statuses
- Former recipients are not eligible to apply
Application
Students and faculty are invited to submit student projects. If you are a student submitting your project, you will be required to upload a brief statement indicating how your work is related to Latinx or Latin American issues, and the project’s significance. If you are a faculty member nominating a student, you will be required to upload a brief letter of recommendation about the student’s project.
