April 2015—CLLAS Board Member Christopher Chávez, UO School of Journalism and Communication, has won the 2015 Outstanding Early Career Award given by the University of Oregon’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation.

Research Excellence Award winners receive commendation from the Office of the Vice President for Research & Innovation, $1,000 in research support, a recognition memento, and highlighting of their work.

The Outstanding Early Career Award is granted to tenure track faculty members at the assistant professor rank. Dr. Chávez will be given his award at a ceremony later this spring.
